Russian audio and video lessons

Currently, we offer audio lessons for the Absolute Beginner level while lessons of the other levels are in process. We're trying to release new Russian lessons every day.

All our lessons are intended for English speakers wanting to learn Russian online. But you also may study Russian in your native language by using the Chrome translation module.

The Russian letter З produces two sounds - З and С. In this lesson, you will learn why the letter З produces С at the end and in the middle of words and why the letter C produces the sound З before voiced letters.

There is a rule that regulates the writing of ШИ and ШЕ in standard written Russian but we never pronounce them that way in real-life speech. In this lesson, you will learn that we always pronounce them ШЫ and ШЭ and practice them in Russian words.

Even though the Russian letter Г produces 4 sounds - Г, К, В, and Х, and can be considered a truly multisound letter it mainly produces only two sounds while the sounds В and Х can be found in a few words that you will learn in this lesson.
