Currently, we offer audio lessons for the Absolute Beginner level while lessons of the other levels are in process. We're trying to release new Russian lessons every day.

All our lessons are intended for English speakers wanting to learn Russian online. But you also may study Russian in your native language by using the Chrome translation module.

The root is the basic part of a word. A lot of Russian words have similar roots, to which other parts like prefixes, suffixes, and endings are added. In this lesson, you'll learn more about the root of words and learn to identify them in words.

Before starting a conversation, you need to learn some aspects of Russian culture and mentality. In this lesson, you will learn how to start a conversation in Russian using different questions and how to answer such questions.

Lesson 66

Suffixes

Suffixes are a group of letters that are added to the root of a word. In this lesson you'll learn the most common Russian suffixes, so you could better understand the properties of objects or attitude to something and emotional background as a whole.

Sometimes we want to find out about new things that happened in a person's life. For this, we use a simple question - Что нового? (Any news?). In this lesson you will learn when you can ask the question and all the possible answers you may give.

Lesson 68

Endings

Endings are a group of letters that come at the end of a word. In this lesson, you'll learn the most common types of endings. You'll also learn to distinguish nouns, adjectives, verbs, and other parts of the speech by their endings.

Despite the fact that we are not divided into doctors and patients it is quite common to inquire about a person's health In the Russian culture, especially if you have close relationships or you are interested to learn how your colleague, friend, or patient feels.

If you want to learn how a person is doing in general you may ask him - Как жизнь? If you ask the question then be ready to get a short answer or listen to a lengthy story about the recent events in a person's life.
